I have a mixed reaction lol.

I am terribly sad it's over.

As a movie, going off the other films, it's a definitely 5! As someone who loves the books, it's about a 3-3.5 (of 5 lol). They cut so much out of Snape's tale, made me kinda sad, and changed the fights tween Molly and Bella, and Harry and VoldyMoldy - those were my three favorite "battles", so I'm upset at the changes, and I'm REALLY annoyed at how much they cut out lol.

Overall, it was really well done, but for me those were just key parts lol. I am trying not to be negative, they did a wonderful job and I hope Rickman gets an Oscar...heck, I hope the darn movie gets a TON of Oscars, since they've waited this bloody long!!!

How about you?

I'm also sad it's over! But my secret is that I felt kind of lucky that it ended up being a Big Thing, to begin with! I liked the books but never expected them to gain the kind of popularity that they did, and becoming a whole movie series, and everything. It was kind of amazing to be a part of it. I wish it wasn't over because I really loved the community that sprung up around the book series. For many years I was in Hogwarts_Elite on LJ (in the Slytherin house, of course) and it was great to be a part of that. Actually, the Slytherin house ended up being a really meaningful thing for me, in my life, sort of... something that gives me hope, even. Just the idea that we make our own world, and can be active agents and build the future to be what we want it to be, is something I hold quite dearly! :)

Year, the cuts always end up being so disappointing even though I know the books are so long it would be really quite tough to fit everything!

The thing I was disappointed about in the movie was actually that the Slytherins didn't show up with a whole big army! The Death Eaters just kind of disappeared towards the end. There was very little Lupin and Tonks (I was hoping to see them a little more)... also, for a minute I was afraid they were going to let Hermione and Ron kill Nagini! I loved the Neville owns Nagini scene more, in the books, it was so epic! :P

But as far as movies go, it really held my interest he whole time and I thought it seemed well done! :)

I hope Alan Rickman winds some awards, too!

Yeah I was amazed at how popular they became. I mean, I eat books, and I was super-excited to see so many people take up reading because of the series. I loved being a part of it as I grew up lol. And I am definitely a Slytherin, though if it was VoldyMoldy time I would have asked for Ravenclaw - Slytherin sense of self-preservation and all that lol. I'm pretty darn sure my dad's a muggle lol. Just don't tell my sister. :-P

I am always sad to see cuts, those were just important to me.

Yeah!!! I was kinda "aw cmon!!!" about that, too! It's sad that the "Slytherins are evil" stigmata has clearly lasted, 19 years or so into the future. :( (It is 19, right?)

And yes, so much less Lupin and Tonks! So sad!

lol Neville was awesome in both, and I do think it was cool for Ron and Hermione to try... I mean, what ARE they doing in the book?? But Neville yes, cooler in the book, but still cool in the movie. And Voldy hugging Malfoy = many giggles.

It was totally awesome and I long to see it again! *Snape fangirls*
