SED Day Three~

I have begun work on a quilted pillow case! The colours and patterns on the fabric I have chosen were inspired by "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" and its sequel. I'm hoping it turns out well and is done by my mom's birthday. :) If it sucks, I'll have to plan something else.

Comic con starts Friday and I'm hoping the wig cap from my sister arrives in time.

My cat has begun scratching where she shouldn't be - namely my leg and the back of Bobby's desk chair. It's not pleasant and we're trying various methods to get her to stop. Penny is my first cat with front claws, so it's a bit of a learning curve for me. A painful one!

I'm running some old WoW raids tonight for Achievements with my mom, sister, and husband. Such fun, since we've got them on Facetime for easy chatting and making faces at each other. ;)

I kind of want to go work on my pillowcase, but I think the whole "noisy sewing machine" thing may piss off the upstairs, so I had best not.

Our two British cats never did much damage on the scratching front, but our little Redneck Georgia cat Sevvy has mangled every stick of furniture we own. He will obediently go to his scratching post if we call him on it, but that doesn't stop him from shredding the chairs.

I don't know what sort of cat Pensieve is, other than "short haired" and "grey"... we've gotten some double-sided sticky tape and that worked on the door frame so we'll add it to his chair... My LEG, however-!! Ow!

She doesn't seem to be doing it unless we're around, either, but stops when we call her out, at least. :-\

If Penny likes catnip, you can try getting one of those cardboard scratching blocks and sprinkle catnip on it. Those blocks work much better than those carpeted scratching posts. It's also really good for them to stretch out and use those muscles when they scratch.

I've got the block, which she hates, and a pole (loves) and a carpeted little house (loves), and while she likes catnip, she just wants to roll in it and then sit there, stoned out of her mind.

I hope it turns out! I got some super cute eighths (1/8 yard scraps, basically) at Walmart, and I hope to hit up Fabricland eventually for bigger pieces. I only have enough "large" fabric to make two pillowcases. :'( (but it's so expensive at walmart omg)

Lola used to scratch on her block, roll around on it and then sit on it as if it were her couch. The catnip would be everywhere, but she had fun.

Time to put that double sided sticky tape on the chair leg and any other furniture she's not allowed to scratch on!

Thank goodness my cat only scratches an old wicker clothes basket. That sounds painful! Your pillowcase sounds lovely - pics when its finished please!

I have to clip both Jenny's and Pye's claws. Titan, for some reason doesn't scratch... he sprays. I'd rather have the scratching.
