The League of Peoples series by James Alan Gardner. Seriously, I would LOVE to explore that world in depth.

Including keeping my character to the highest level of sentience, else crossing the line into interstellar space will automatically kill me.

Would be epicsauce. XD

That has got to be the best question I've seen of the Writer's Block.

I would choose the little known Banned and Banished Series (first one is Wit'ch Fire). I think that it would make a really good action/adventure and/or RPG. The main girl in the book already has charge herself up and can only use such much power; she already has mana! And then she has an entire party of people surrounding her, which would be awesome to play as. I really don't remember the details that well, but the larger picture could easily make a video game!

I thought it was pretty darn awesome, too! I think the Twelve Houses series by Sharon Shinn would be fun, as well! :-D
