Ah, ornaments...

My mom & dad started a tradition when we (my sister and I) were born/little... Every year, we each got a new ornament.

The thought was that that way when we moved out into the great wide world we'd have enough ornaments to get our own tree started and decorated... and it's true. My tree is hung with ornaments (some are missing, I think Mom has them) plus the few I bought, and garlands... and it's my first Christmas with my husband.

We bough him an ornament, too. He picked Donatello, which is both of our favorite ninja turtle.

Our tree is awesome and full of memories. ♥

My parents had a box of decorations from Germany so I've taken a few of those for myself (apples, straw angels) and bought a few things. This year I bought the 50th Dr Who bauble :D

Nice! I haven't bought an ornament for myself this year, sadly. But!! I did buy beaded garlands and bells for the tree lol... just in case the cat upstairs gets downstairs *again* and decides to climb, I'll have a few seconds of warning before the entire tree crashes down, destroying my childhood collection...

Bobby loves his turtle, though, which is awesome!!!

ahaha I grew up with 4 cats so I understand your pain. Fortunately by the time they were big enough to tip over the tree, they couldn't fit inside the branches :p It was fun though, watching two kitchens chase eachother up the branches.
