Hello, hello, all!

Where to start? I've been horrible at not replying to comments or messages or reviews or emails lately. I've been just fine chatting real-time, but past that, I think that I just feel burned out.

Between hp-silencio, samhain-smut, and sshg-giftfest plus my own work, I think that I have too much on my plate. Especially since I keep getting sidetracked by gs100 prompts!! I've actually been pretty stressed about money, or lack thereof, and meeting deadlines for things I keep signing up for lol.

Penny's doing pretty well. She's gotten so big!! In November she'll reach six months old, which means I can give her cat nip! Mwa ha haaaaa! She's such a snuggly kitty, a total love bucket. I adore her far more than I should. She knows I'm a sucker. I have been teaching her "come" and "stay", though. She's better at come than stay, but still it's useful.

She darted out the door yesterday when Bobby went to toss some dirty water. A bit of a scare for us! Poor little thing got out, paused, and had the "OH GOD NO IT IS COLD THIS WAS A MISTAKE. ABORT. ABORT." look on her face. Came when called, thank goodness.

I've spent yesterday and today cleaning the house and starting in on the to do list for Canadian Thanksgiving, which is Monday. We've vacuumed. (Penny does not like the vacuum.) We've done two loads of wash and some dishes. I've scrubbed down the bathroom floor and shower and sinks and toilet and ugh, exhausted.

My apple pie bars are in the oven now, and the pecan pie bars are cooling. Tomorrow I make cranberries, start the mashed potatoes (they thankfully finish in the oven, so I prep them ahead of time), and the pumpkin pie. Oh, and make the garlic-sage butter for rubbing down the bird. Which means that Monday, the turkey goes in the roaster, and I need to make green bean casserole, rolls, stuffing... It's going to be crazy, but I actually really love the pressure of holiday cooking/baking.

Speaking of holiday stuff... if I were to offer making Christmas cookies for friends, would anyone be interested in paying shipping? :) I love to bake for folks, but 20+ to ship a box of cookies from Canada is nuts.

In awesome news, my mom was super cool and paid for me to get an eye exam and new glasses - YAY. I've been having hurting eyes and headaches lately, squinting more...not fun. Turns out, my eyes have gotten BETTER (yay for video games ha ha), and I no longer need bifocals. I've had them since middle or high school. It will definitely be a change to get used to not having them.

So in bad news, I have to wait a few days to get my glasses, and then I'll have that horrid adjustment period where I get used to a new prescription (it's been three years or so, oops), but then.. then! I will have CUTE AND ADORABLE GLASSES.  It was cheaper to get two pairs that I like (sun and reg) than it was to settle on a pair with clip on shades. And the frames I picked? So cute. Like, Garcia from Criminal Minds cute. So stoked.

I'm sorry for being so shitty about socializing and stuff.

Not so great tbh. But I'm still fighting. I'm just very weary of living. I'll get over it, don't worry.
